Passion
It's often said that men never really grow up - they just get bigger.
I would like to disagree just for principles' sake, but I guess I can't really. We men have this inner child in us that never really grows up - we enjoy the stupid jokes and awkward situational humor.
We never really give up our toys. They get just bigger, too....
One of these toys that I cherish as an adult is my camera. This is one toy that grew up with me over time - from my first kodak point-n-shoot when I was 10 years old to
the digital SLRs that I use now, they've been a part of my life
for as long as I can remember. For me, taking photographs has always been about evoking emotions. I feel that looking at a photograph should make you feel something. As I grew up,
I realized that the emotions that I was trying to embody in my pictures also changed - I felt that those emotions also kind of grew up.
But the way I felt while taking them remained the same. I was always elated to be just taking pictures -
I felt like a kid playing with his/her favourite toy - I guess this is the reason for my passion for photography - taking pictures brings
out the inner child in me.
And I really couldn't ask for more from a toy....
